Origin of Six Sigma Manufacturing

Six Sigma is a manufacturing process control strategy which first implemented by Motorola.

Six sigma being common used by any sectors of industry nowadays, especially those precision product manufacturing.

Six Sigma manufacturing implemented to control the process or stabilize the process. Then, seeks to improve the quality of process outputs.

To stable or improve the process, six sigma manufacturing tools need to be used to achieve the target.

Six sigma free excel tools 

 

Six sigma tools can be customized by using excel including process capability (Cpk), probability (P) and defect parts per million (ppm or dppm). The function and result is exactly same as using six sigma tools software such as minitab. Some simples of six sigma excel tools are available as shown below
  • Calculate Cpk and ppm by inputting the data collected
  • This is used when one set data being collected on certain process to check the Cpk and ppm of this process
  • Sigma level conversion table
  • Conversion table for sigma level to Cpk, p, % and PPM. Input any sigma level and it will show all the related Cpk, P, % and PPM
